The Story
The seed for Torq wasn't planted in a boardroom, but on the sidelines of cricket grounds over the last decade. As my son progressed from a seven-year-old with a plastic bat to a seventeen-year-old playing high-level professional cricket, I lived the struggle every parent of a cricketer knows. We found ourselves lost in a maze of expensive gear, flashy marketing, and retail sellers who were more interested in a commission than my son’s cover drive. Reaching the actual brands felt impossible, and there was no one to offer honest, technical guidance on what equipment actually suited his evolving game. I realized that the industry was full of sellers, but empty of mentors—so I decided to build the brand I wish we had found years ago.
